A new report from the Australian Institute of Home Builders (AIHB) shows that the quality of a home can be determined by what you are contributing to it.
It also highlights the importance of planning for and paying attention to environmental impacts.
It’s an important point for many who are buying their first home and don’t have the money to buy an older home.
AIAB managing director John Gullen says there is a huge opportunity in homebuilding.
“Our report shows how building quality can be defined as the quality you contribute to your property and the quality and location of your neighbours,” he said.

AIAHB says there are two key factors in home quality: design and material.

The report says a home built well is one that looks and feels good to use and one that is structurally sound.

The AIAHB has a list of recommended sites and guidelines for homebuyers.

The AHCA is the federal government’s housing finance authority.

“Housing finance is about finding a mortgage, but the AHC provides other financial support for homeowners,” Mr Cairns said.
